history
"Lavina"
Lavinia was a former barmaid at the World's End pub, and it's said she was murdered after refusing a customer's advancements. Even though this tragic crime occurred over two hundred years ago, the room where the murder happened remains sealed and, intriguingly, only has a window for entry!
Apart from our most famous story above, ghostly encounters are regular throughout all levels of the pub. Staff report feeling touches on their backs, hearing the clicking of fingers, and experiencing pots and pans crashing. In the private quarters upstairs, footsteps along the landing are a nightly occurrence, and when we used to accommodate guests, many mentioned seeing figures appear and feeling as if someone were sitting at the end of their bed.
